Norbert Schneider - Ollas Paletti (CD)

Ollas Paletti is a 2023 album by Austrian musician Norbert Schneider that blends elements of blues, jazz, soul and Austropop into a warm, organic sound. Recorded largely live with his band, the CD emphasizes a relaxed groove, vintage tones and German-language lyrics that balance humor, nostalgia and everyday poetry. The production is deliberately straightforward, giving the impression of a tight ensemble playing together in real time and highlighting Schneider’s distinctive voice and guitar playing. Across its tracks, the album moves from swinging, lightly funky songs to more reflective moments, always rooted in a bluesy feel. Pieces like Gospel Batterie set the tone with a laid-back shuffle and playful energy, while I wü an wos glaum showcases Schneider’s melodic songwriting and ear for catchy hooks. The title track Ollas Paletti sums up the album’s character: soulful, relaxed and confident, with arrangements that leave plenty of space for horns, backing vocals and subtle rhythmic details. Released in 2023, Ollas Paletti presents Norbert Schneider as a modern interpreter of classic styles who filters blues and jazz traditions through a contemporary Austro-pop lens.
