There are clear differences in the quality of the cables, differences that are related to the purpose of use. Especially at higher transfer speeds and at longer lengths, shielded cables have significantly better transfer qualities. It is important that the decision regarding the shielding for an installation is made continuously. In our assortment you will find the following types of shielding: Shielding Types UTP U/UTP (Unscreened/Unshielded Twisted Pair): These cables do not have a common hood, nor do the individual twisted pairs of wires have a shield. They have the lowest protection against electromagnetic influences. FTP F/UTP (Filled/Unshielded Twisted Pair): The wire pairs are unshielded, the cables are equipped with a total shielding of aluminium laminated film, which envelops all the wire pairs together. A variant of this is S/UTP (screened/unshielded twisted pair): Here, too, the pairs of veins are unshielded, the entire screen consists of a tinned copper braid. The quality of these cables is significantly higher than U/UTP cables. SF/UTP SF/UTP (Screened Foiled/Unshielded Twisted Pair): The wire pairs are unshielded, there is a full screen of aluminum laminated foil and a tinned copper braid. The protective effect of this combination is even higher than with simple shielding. S/FTP S/FTP or also PimF (called pairs in metal foil): All wire pairs are each shielded with aluminum laminated foil and there is a total shielding of tinned copper braid. The pairs of shielding significantly reduces the interference between the pairs ("NEXT = side speaking"). This combination of foil and braid also offers the highest possible protection against external electromagnetic influences.
