Cracking Walnuts

“When I was just a tyke, Long before I grew I loved the taste of walnuts, Even before I liked stew.” So begins the tale of one small boy’s vigorous and determined efforts to gain access to his favorite tasty treat. In spite of the difficulty presented by a walnut’s hard shell, CRACKING WALNUTS presents the reader with an amusing array of creative solutions that lead our stalwart student of invention on a quest and lifelong pursuit to satisfy his curious craving for their taste, and his later appetite for collecting contrivances for their disposition. Like father, like son - not to be outdone, when the star of our story has grown, his son sets his sights on a surprising concluding quest of his own. It must run in the family. Intent on entertainment versus the contemporary demand for teaching and ideological themes in children’s books, A.Teveluwe’ stories propose to join adults and children in the charm and delight of storytelling by sharing simple and lighthearted themes based on the author’s own upbringing and interests, with ageless and pleasantly reminiscent improvisation of an earlier time for simple and innocent diversions of imagination. Like many an aspiring author, with hopes his readers will pursue interest in his other additional works, the author presents the following current and future children’s picture books, under the pen name of A.Teveluwe’ for consideration: THE LITTLEST COWBOY RUTABAGA HASH And a coffee table book: THE FLYING PIGS OF RIVERTOWN, a lighthearted flight through Cincinnati, Ohio history.
