Letters of the Observer in de praktijk
Letters of the Observer, waar gaat het boek over?In the year 1895, a young misanthropic man, Joseph, meets the love of his life in Paris, Noor, as he tries to understand the meaning of life, and the difference between existing and living. An Existential Turmoil caused by Love and HatredLetters Of The Observer is a philosophical novel that tells the story of Joseph Rizk, a young adult who moves to Paris, France to study philosophy at the Sorbonne in order to lead a better life. While extremely intellectual and self-aware, he is a complete misanthrope, filled with anger, self-hatred, and despair. As Joseph was ready to begin his academic journey, he meets Noor, a Dutch lady that also studies philosophy. His encounter with Noor reveals a part of Joseph that he thought had vanished. In 1895’s Paris, the human condition of all the characters is put to the test, and the lines between sanity and insanity, love and hatred, are blurred. Over de auteur Kamal Korkees Kamal Korkees was born in Syria in 2003 and has lived there until 2017 when he immigrated to The Netherlands with his family. He began writing in 2022 when he began studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. The themes that define Korkees's work include Continental Philosophy (Existentialism and Aburdism) and Ethics; he argues that the concepts of Existentialism and Aburdism, if taken as a radical stance against the meaninglessness of the world and the life upon it, are too extreme, and therefore he believes that there must be a middle point between these two philosophies: Existentialist Absurdism.
