Told Slant - What's Up (CD)

What’s Up is a 2026 album by Told Slant, the project of songwriter Felix Walworth, rooted in an intimate strain of indie rock that folds in elements of bedroom pop and slowcore. The record centers on themes of a changing New York, grief, and artistic devotion, with warm, tape-recorded instrumentation and raw, close-mic’d vocals that emphasize emotional nuance over polish. Across its ten tracks, What’s Up balances hushed, spacious arrangements with moments of dense, collaborative playing. Songs like Real Love, Manhattan, and Sailor stand out as key pieces, moving between fragile, contemplative passages and more expansive, full-band climaxes. The album’s live-to-tape feel gives it a tactile, human presence, making What’s Up a quietly ambitious and deeply personal indie rock release from Told Slant in 2026.
