Kangding Ray - Sirat (CD)

SIR?T (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is a captivating film score composed by electronic musician Kangding Ray for Óliver Laxe's 2025 desert drama Sir?t, blending techno and experimental genres into a pulsating, atmospheric soundscape. Released in 2025 by Invada Records in digital, CD, and LP formats, the album captures the film's raw, grainy 16mm aesthetic through rough analog textures merged with refined production techniques, evoking the free-spirited energy of rave scenes amid Morocco's harsh southern deserts. Kangding Ray, known for his breakthrough album Solens Arc and prior film scoring work, crafted much of the score before production began, drawing on his rock and experimental roots to create a vital, distinctive sound that bridges underground club vibes with cinematic grandeur.Critics have praised the score's transporting power, with reviewers highlighting its mesmerizing pulses, tectonic intensity, and nerve-deep architecture that elevate the film's emotional and visceral impact. Kangding Ray earned the Cannes Soundtrack Award for his work, with nominations pending for Golden Globe and others, underscoring its meticulous sculpting and ability to synchronize heart rates with on-screen delirium. The result is a meticulously arranged sonic bloodstream that colonizes the air, making dancers and audiences alike feel like tuning forks in a trance-like surrender.
